The Summer Solstice (Litha) is the longest day of the year. This is a time when the Sun is at its full strength shining bright in the sky. After this day the upcoming days will become shorter and shorter.

In a bittersweet way, the Summer Solstice reminds us that nothing lasts forever. We live in a realm where everything is constantly changing, dying, and rebirthing. As we remember what we love doesn't last forever we deepen our love even more while they are here in physical form. This is a time of letting go and acceptance. This is a time to remember to be fully in the present moment, soaking up the richness of the here and the now.

The Solstice is known as the fire festival. The fires burned in a ceremony on this day of course represent many things. It represents the summer heat and the honoring of the Sun as well as death, rebirth, renewal, change, creation, and destruction.
